To achieve the “double carbon” goal, energy is the source. The "14th Five-Year Plan" and the following period will be a critical period for the world's energy transformation. Global energy will accelerate its evolution towards low-carbon and zero-carbon directions, and renewable energy will gradually grow into the main energy source supporting economic and social development.
In order to comprehensively promote green transformation and development, our country has put forward higher requirements for the energy industry. Clean energy is widely used due to its low carbon emission characteristics, and therefore has become an important magic weapon in the adjustment of my country's energy structure.
Clean energy is also called green energy. Traditionally, it refers to energy that does not emit pollutants and can be directly used for production and life. According to the latest classification, clean energy includes solar energy and wind energy. , hydro energy, geothermal energy, biomass energy and nuclear energy.
On December 20, 2022, with the last unit officially connected to the grid, all 16 million-kilowatt units of my country’s Jinsha River Baihetan Hydropower Station were put into operation to generate electricity. So far, the four super projects on the lower reaches of the Jinsha River - Wudongde Hydropower Station, Baihetan Hydropower Station, Xiluodu Hydropower Station, Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station, together with the Gezhouba Water Conservancy Project and the Three Gorges Project on the Yangtze River, together form the world's largest clean energy corridor.
Clean energy is an important branch of my country’s energy supply system. In recent years, the country has vigorously supported the development of clean energy and has successively introduced relevant support policies.
On October 21, 2021, nine departments including the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy Development Plan" (referred to as the "Plan") ). It is mentioned in the "Plan" that in 2030, on the basis that the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption will reach about 25% and the total installed capacity of wind power and solar power generation will reach more than 1.2 billion kilowatts, the above indicators will be further improved. Renewable energy is accelerating the replacement of fossil energy, new power systems have achieved substantial results, the competitiveness of the renewable energy industry has been further consolidated and improved, and a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system has been basically established.
In May 2022, the Ministry of Finance issued the "Opinions on Financial Support for Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality" (referred to as the "Opinions"). The "Opinions" proposed to support the establishment of A clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system. Reduce and replace coal in an orderly manner, promote the transformation and upgrading of coal consumption; optimize clean energy support policies, vigorously support the application of a high proportion of renewable energy, and promote the construction of a new power system with a gradually increasing proportion of new energy; support photovoltaic, wind power, biomass and other renewable energy sources. Renewable energy, as well as new energy with stable output to replace fossil energy.
In addition, clean energy was also mentioned in the recently issued "Implementation Plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan for Expanding Domestic Demand Strategy" (referred to as the "Implementation Plan") issued by the National Development and Reform Commission. The "Implementation Plan" proposes to vigorously promote new energy vehicles and new energy and clean energy ships. At the same time, the "Implementation Plan" also mentioned that it is necessary to continue to improve the level of clean energy utilization, build a multi-energy complementary clean energy base, accelerate the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases focusing on deserts, Gobis, and desert areas, and orderly promote the hydrogen energy foundation Facilities construction, and the development of biomass energy, geothermal energy, and ocean energy applications according to local conditions.
Accelerating the development of renewable energy and implementing renewable energy substitution actions are major measures to promote the energy revolution and build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system. Relevant data shows that by 2050, about 88% of my country's primary energy will come from clean renewable energy.
